Concertino for two cellos and string orchestra
This is a wonderful performance of the Concertino in Mexico City by the Orquesta de Cámara de Bellas Artes, José Luis Castillo, artistic conductor, with soloists Luz del Carmen Águila and Adriana Carrasco. It was performed on 3 March 2019 at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música. I was able to attend this concert and was thrilled by the warm welcome I received and the exciting performance I encountered. The audience response was enthusiastic and then, to my astonishment and pleasure, the final measures of the first movement were presented as an encore, the only time I have ever enjoyed that experience.
After a brief introduction in Spanish, the short concert begins with Vivaldi’s Concerto in G Minor for Two Cellos, RV 531. My Concertino then follows at [17:25].
