Black Water – stage premiere (Part 2-5)

On April 29, 2016, the Center for Contemporary Opera presented the stage premiere of Black Water as a part of a sold-out double bill in the Thalia Theater at New York City’s Symphony Space. The extraordinary soprano, Laura Bohn, accompanied by pianist Isabella Dawis, revealed a performance of Black Water that was a deeply emotional and powerful theatrical experience. Directed by Eugenia Arsenis with music direction by Lidiya Yankovskaya, this exceptional creative team designed an inspiring operatic production that fully realized this tragic story of a young woman’s suffering and death.
